Dakota earned an undergraduate degree in International Relations from the George Washington University, and prior to becoming a full-time freelance photographer, spent years working in the non-profit sector. Around town Dakota is known for his work featured in the Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, The Washington Post Express, DC Modern Luxury, Washington Life, and his long-lasting relationship with local D.C. hip-kid blog brightestyoungthings.com. Additionally, Dakota was honored to be awarded a gold star, from his mom.
Dakota makes pictures for a living, so definitely approach him with serious inquiries, but please don’t beg him for free photos. And yes, he does shoot weddings!
Dakota has enjoyed calling Washington, D.C. “home” since 2002, but spent the first 20 years of his life in San Francisco, and is still deeply rooted to the Bay Area. Based on the east coast, he travels frequently, and is available for work worldwide, frequently servicing clients in D.C., New York, and San Francisco. |
